Loving to Move: With the Kids (part 3)

Yesterday the boys and I went to the park. The big play ground area was full of kids and parents. I had planned to workout off to the side while they played, however, there was not an appropriate area I could to do my sets of burpies, push-ups, split squats, pull ups and dips, while keeping an eye on the boys or without attracting attention. So plan B, aka "The Park is Busy", kicked in. Time to PLAY WITH THE KIDS.

Playing with the Kids at the Park
Taydem, Creighton and I enjoy devising obstacle courses and playing tag at the park. Both are excellent cardio workouts and so much fun. We take turns creating the obstacle course. Example: Up the stairs, across the bridge, down the slide, up the rock wall, spin around 5 times at the top and down the twisty slide. The course usually takes about 15-30 seconds to complete, we go one at a time, as fast as we can, sometimes we time each other! (sound familiar... Surge?!)
Tag is Taydem's favorite! At 27 weeks pregnant I can still catch him but wow it takes a big effort. (Exactly what I am looking for) We set boundaries (the mulch area), can use all the equipment and don't use a base.

Last night, after I began playing with kids on the equipment, a dad started playing tag with his daughter and then a mom began climbing with her children and soon another mom put down her book and got closer to the action with her kids. It was an amazing night to see families loving to move together.

Challenge: Go to the park. (Walk to the park) Leave your book and cellphone at home. Ignore the benches. Play with the kids. Laugh. Bond. Move.
